Since the rally we have been collecting in additional photos / videos from everyone and we are currently putting together new footage and media to show you all. Expect to see more on our Barmy to Barcelona ‘08 trip soon.
After each day of the rally I had a laptop set up to collect everyone’s photos they had been taking. While Austin was driving I was hard at work sorting through the photos and making a slide show to display on the final night in Barcelona.
Here is the slide show uploaded on the blog for everyone to enjoy. (There is also a download link for those who want to keep it on their computer)
I am still collecting in photos and videos from day 4 along with other photos people may have on their computers. If I did not manage to get your photos on the final night or if you have any other photos that you want to include in the final version of the slideshow, please email them to me at jezz@eclipseleisure.co.uk
Prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Even up until the last day the competition was very close.
A big congratulations to Bulletproof Bomb, Fool Runnings and Chaos Engine for getting their hands on the prizes. Commiserations to the runner-ups who were still extremely close and put in a lot of effort for their scores.
Bonus scores were as follows. Painted Car 300 points max, Fancy dress 200 points that little extra 200. Engine size 400 points bullet proof bomb 200 points Metro Sexuals 100 points gone fishing.
To the ralliers who joined us, a big thank you for making this an incredible event, and to those that have been following via the blog, a thank you for being their in spirit.
Thank you.
(Please keep watching this space as over the next few days I will be even more photos, videos and stories from the Rally)
On entering Barcelona and only 5 minutes from the end point those upstanding protectors of law and order saw fit to have a chat with the need for speed and the swamp thing. We can only assume it was because those cars got more attention than their cars, it could also have been because one was missing a door and one was covered in builders foam and painted green.
The Barcelona Police somehow didn’t believe that gypsies stole the rear passenger door of the pace car (no trust in the world these days) and decided to have off with the car. Just for good measure they decided swampy was too wide for the streets of Barcelona ?????? Both cars scrapped.
We’d like to thank the Barcelona constabulary for their great sense of humour and understanding, and maybe the rest of Europe could learn from their diligent police work.
